Lisa first began her shooting career as a pistol athlete and member of the Shooting Federation of Canada and International Shooting Sport Federation, achieving National Team status. Lisa put her own shooting career on hold to devote her time and energy to coaching. Lisa coaches at the grassroots level through to elite athletes – regionally, provincially and nationally. Lisa continues her training as a High Performance Coach, and is currently enrolled in the Canadian National Coaching Certification Program for her Advanced Coaching Diploma … with aspirations of being an Olympic coach.
Lisa has been Team Leader/Head Coach for the Canadian Junior and Canadian University Shooting Teams as well as senior athletes, travelling to international events.
Lisa’s goal as a coach is to constantly challenge athletes and encourage them to strive for excellence – to perform nothing less than their best. She has a belief that you do not judge a shooter on their best day when everything is going well, but on their worse – when it is a struggle. Lisa continues to expand her knowledge and coaching techniques and is prepared to work with the athletes to achieve their goals of bettering themselves and proudly representing themselves and their country. Determination and attitude will bring our athletes success. They will work hard. They will make sacrifices. They will perform. They will be rewarded.
Lisa Borgerson is the first Certified Instructor of Mental Management Systems in Canada. Lisa is excited to be part of the Mental Management Systems family. This will definitely benefit not only athletes, but also parents and peers and will complement and enhance her coaching education and style.
Lisa presently resides in Southern Saskatchewan.
